Simran Dhillon is a 2L JD candidate at uOttawa. She comes from a background in account management and business development, where she worked closely with Fortune 500 companies and technology startups. She is passionate about building strong relationships and providing practical, client-centered legal support.

Véronique Knapp is a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Ottawa, expected to graduate in 2027. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies with Distinction and a Certificate in Law from Queen’s University. This past summer, Véronique worked at Dickinson Wright LLP, where she assisted on a range of corporate and commercial matters. She looks forward to working with founders through the Startup Law Clinic and helping entrepreneurs navigate legal issues at every stage of their businesses.

Justina Mekhail is a third-year J.D. candidate at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Common Law. She previously earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a specialization in Public Law and Judicial Studies from McMaster University. Prior to joining the Startup Law Clinic, Justina worked at the Norton Rose Fulbright Entrepreneurship and Innovation Law Clinic, where she assisted startups and small businesses with corporate legal matters. She is passionate about helping entrepreneurs navigate legal challenges by providing practical, accessible legal information and looks forward to supporting Ottawa’s startup community.

Richard Moshenski-Dubov is an incoming articling student at Wildeboer Dellelce LLP and a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, where he is completing an option in Technology Law. Before law school, Richard earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Toronto. At uOttawa, he co-founded and served as President of Legal Advocates for Cancer Awareness, raising over $15,000 for cancer organizations. Outside of law, Richard enjoys playing tennis, travelling, and is training for a triathlon.

Dilene Mugenzi is a third-year law student committed to supporting early-stage entrepreneurs. Prior to law       school, she worked at a social innovation organization alongside seed-stage entrepreneurs. With a background in science, Dilene is interested in the intersection of law, science, and innovation.

Rashika Ravintharan is a J.D. candidate at the University of Ottawa with a strong interest in business law and innovation. Before law school, she worked as an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst, and currently brings regulatory experience in the financial sector through her work at the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), with a particular focus on advising on the legal implications of emerging technologies within today’s rapidly evolving landscape. She is passionate about translating complex legal issues into practical, client-focused solutions and enjoys collaborating with clients to support innovative ideas.

Seniru Ruwanpura is a 2L JD candidate at uOttawa with a particular interest in technology, venture capital and intellectual property law. He was a 1L Summer Student at Osler, Hoskin, & Harcourt, where he worked extensively with the firm’s Emerging and High Growth Companies group, widely recognized as one of Canada’s leading startup law practices. He is also a research assistant for Professor Michael Geist and serves as President of the uOttawa Law and Technology Student Society, the student chapter of the university’s Center for Law, Technology, and Society. Seniru holds a BSc. in software engineering from the University of Calgary.

Theo Talalla is a 2L JD candidate at the University of Ottawa with a background in History and Political Science from McGill University, where he developed a strong understanding of how policy is made. His interests span law, entrepreneurship, and emerging technology, including digital finance, AI, and commerce. He is excited to help motivated founders with the legal solutions they need as they navigate the fast-paced startup world.

Geneviève Tremblay  is a third-year J.D. candidate at the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Through her work as a summer law student, she has gained experience in commercial litigation, corporate law, real estate, and family law, where she has drafted a wide range of legal documents and contributed to legal publications on emerging issues in the law. She has published several legal research papers and articles. Geneviève is passionate about helping entrepreneurs navigate legal challenges and is excited to support founders through the Startup Law Clinic. Outside of law, she enjoys trying new workout classes, listening to music, and discovering great books.

Maroun Youness is a third-year law student who has gained hands-on legal experience through roles at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP and the Department of Justice Canada. Through this experience, he has developed strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. He has a particular interest in business law, which is reflected in his academic studies, where he earned the highest standing in the Business Organizations course. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
